National Clothing Day

In order to preserve and widely promote the unique folklore art of the Uzbek people, including oral poetic creativity, folk epics, handicrafts, national clothing and folk games, as well as ancient traditions, the “National Clothing Day” was celebrated at the initiative of First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work B. Sangirov, Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs of the Faculty of Art History and Museology A. Musinov, tutor of the same faculty B. Mahkamov, in cooperation with the Faculties of Fine Arts and Applied Arts and the Youth Union’s primary organization chair S. Kholturayev.

The main goal of organizing this event was to preserve and develop national traditions and customs, priceless spiritual values, and masterpieces of intangible cultural heritage in their original form, and to convey their significance to the younger generation. The event was enriched with musical performances, staged shows, lullabies, and traditional “bride greeting” rituals performed by students and young artists.

Additionally, talented students vividly portrayed the great scholars and geniuses of the Second Renaissance, including Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, and our great ancestor Amir Temur, presenting small theatrical scenes for the audience.

At the end of the event, the Faculty of Art History and Museology awarded diplomas to the most active participants. This recognition served as great motivation for students, creating a foundation for the preservation of ancient traditions.
